Maintenance Helper Custodian - Our Lady Star Sea School - Solomons Maryland

Our Lady Star of the Sea School is hiring a part-time Custodian. This role will report to the Principal and the pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The hours are flexible for this position.

The Maintenance Technician/Custodian will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of parish/school buildings and grounds.

• Basic maintenance and repair work for parish and school buildings
• Snow shoveling and general maintenance, cleaning, etc.
• Basic grounds maintenance such as mowing, raking, watering and ice and snow removal
• Perform cleaning, facility set-up, hauling and moving of equipment
• Trash removal from the parish and school buildings and grounds
• Effectively communicate with leadership on any maintenance issues as directed

• Effective team player with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to perform multiple tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift 30 – 40 pounds consistently
• Committed to excellence in following Archdiocesan policies, procedures, standards and legal requirements
• Must be self-motivated and responsible, ability to work with minimal supervision

• Minimum 1-2 years prior professional experience in building and grounds maintenance work and working with industrial strength cleaning chemicals
• Education:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent
