In this role, you will…

We are seeking a dependable, hard‑working Facilities Maintenance Technician / Day Porter to help maintain our building and support daily facility operations. This hands‑on role includes general building maintenance, cleaning, stocking supplies, running errands, setting up work spaces, and handling day‑to‑day requests from management and staff.

The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping a facility clean, safe, organized, and running smoothly. This position requires someone who is flexible, self‑motivated, and willing to jump in wherever needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repair tasks.
  • Help with wall patching and painting, minor door or lock repairs, and basic custodial duties such as vacuuming or emergency cleanups.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and related components.
  • Observe and report any equipment issues or facility hazards to senior technicians or supervisors.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility and report issues.
  • Support outside contractors and vendors when onsite.
  • Fill and maintain coffee machines and beverage inventory.
  • Restock office supplies, and office materials.
  • Empty trash and assist with light cleaning duties as needed.
  • Handle deliveries, supply pickups, and company errands as needed.
  • Support loading and unloading of deliveries using hand trucks or other moving equipment.
  • Provide general support to the mail room and assist with lobby security duties as assigned.
  • Respond to work orders in a timely and courteous manner, escalating complex issues to senior staff.
  • Assist with moving furniture or setting up work spaces for meetings or events, following instructions.
  • Learn and follow all safety procedures, building policies, and maintenance protocols.
  • Take proactive steps to maintain and service company equipment and tools, conducting routine inspections and performing preventive upkeep.
  • Maintain accurate work and mileage logs for assignments completed.
  • Perform inspections of common areas as directed, noting any obvious safety or maintenance issues.
  • May perform additional general duties as assigned to support the facilities team and contribute to overall building operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the facilities maintenance industry.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision using strong follow‑up skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must and to be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to receive assignments by phone and/or wireless data service (email).
  • Must be able to move and/or lift up to fifty (50) lbs.
  • Strong reading, writing, communication, and mathematical skills needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction drawings and technical manuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional trade or construction education.
  • Previous facilities, maintenance, porter, custodial, warehouse, or handyman experience.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance practices.

Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday. 8:30am—5:00pm

Work hours will depend on the business hours of the time zone serviced.
