• High School Diploma/GED or any combination of education, training, or experience that qualifies to successfully perform in the position.
• Capable of climbing stairs, ladders, carrying reasonable loads, shoveling snow, operating gas powered equipment, and other manual tasks to maintain buildings in first-class condition.

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work harmoniously with staff, students, and community.
• Previous experience in commercial cleaning and mechanical/carpentry work.

• Perform cleaning of school buildings using hand or mechanical tools (scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, waxing, dusting, etc.).
• Provide presence to protect school against fire, discourage theft, and damage by trespassers.
• Check and maintain heating/air conditioning system as per schedule.
• Assist with and make minor emergency repairs.
• Clean and care for grounds.
• Keep work records and inventory of custodial equipment and supplies, order supplies when necessary.
• Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must sufficiently and efficiently move throughout the building and grounds for extended periods.
• Must use sensory skills effectively to communicate and interact with others (see hearing, sight, speech).
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Operate powered equipment.
• Move, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, walk stairs, climb, and shovel.
• Will be subjected to loud noises, dusts, fumes, and hot and cold outdoor temperatures.
