Primary PurposeThis position is accountable for the cleanliness of the center common area, which includes but is not limited to the parking lot, common sidewalks, and service bays. This position is also responsible for emptying trash receptacles, tenant dumpsters, and operating a trash compactor.
Principal Responsibilities- Routinely inspects and patrols the interior and exterior of the facility performing custodial duties including sweeping sidewalks/floors, wet mopping, operating steam cleaner, hand vacuum, cleaning and restocking restrooms, gathering and emptying trash receptacles, operating compactor, and turning trash carts.
- Operates a variety of Janitorial equipment to maintain cleanliness of property.
- Operates high‑reach or lift equipment to perform debris removal and cleaning of elevated surfaces.
- Assists other departments, including Marketing, in cleaning and patrolling during events.
- Establishes procedures to ensure completion of scheduled cleaning of different areas of the facility.
- Maintains a professional, cooperative working relationship with management and all co‑workers.
- Performs the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g. OSHA) to promote a safe working environment.
- Maintains inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, cleaning supplies, equipment and tools.
- Notifies supervisor of damaged or missing property, missing trash containers, and other problems.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical school certifications and/or training preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information to departmental management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to define problems, collect information, and establish facts.
- Self‑starter with ability to work independently and multitask.
- Knowledge of safety rules, hazards, and application of accident prevention measures.
- Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
