Salary: $19.31 – $22.66 per hour, based on experience.

The Porter supports the environmental services department by removing trash, distributing supplies, and carrying out heavy cleaning projects.
Duties and Responsibilities- Carries out special project cleaning as assigned, including carpet shampooing, floor scrubbing, wall washing, furniture touch‑up, upholstery cleaning, and power washing of sidewalks and parking areas.
- Daily assignments: exterior property walkthroughs; pulling diapers; checking maintenance and housekeeping tickets; watering plants; pulling/trimming dead flowers and plants; blowing leaves; wiping down front entrances.
- Seasonal responsibilities: event set‑up and breakdowns; snow removal and treatment; holiday decoration set‑up (exterior).
- Additional tasks: remove shredded paper; power wash all buildings and sidewalks; paint all curbs; clean wheelchairs; clean gutters; flood response; minor maintenance items; internal transfers.
- Participate in bi‑annual deep cleaning of resident suites, including cleaning under and behind furniture, cleaning blinds, carpet cleaning, spot‑cleaning walls, and cleaning closet areas.
- Complete work requests for items that require repair in resident suites and common areas.
- Cleans common areas as assigned: corridors, restrooms, offices, break rooms, lounges, and storage areas.
- Maintains equipment and work areas in an organized, clean, and like‑new condition.
- Attends training courses and participates in professional development activities as required.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.

- Ability to communicate clearly and energetically with people of all ages.
- Must read and write English, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Must be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks; a health screening by a physician will be completed before employment.
- Must demonstrate freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis via health screening by a physician before employment.
- Must be criminally cleared by DOJ and FBI through the Live‑Scan process before employment.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to talk, hear, and use close vision.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms above, below, and at shoulder height.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds; must be able to push a minimum of 200 pounds over a minimum distance of 200 feet.
- May be required to assist in the evacuation of residents during an emergency.
- Work area may be subject to noise, distractions, and interruptions; ability to remain calm and positive in stressful situations is required.
