Maintenance Technician

Summary:

The Maintenance Worker provides general maintenance to all buildings and facilities at Benedictine’s main campus.

Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00

Schedule:

Monday - Friday; 7:00a - 3:00p

• Consistently report to work on time as scheduled, prepared to perform assigned duties and responsibilities during entire scheduled work period/shift.
• Perform a wide variety of preventative and general maintenance as well as repairs to facilities and equipment to provide a healthy and safe working environment.
• Perform other tasks related to maintaining facilities in excellent condition.
• Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions.
• Respond to all maintenance requests promptly and professionally through a web-based work order request program.
• Report to Facilities Manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

• Cooperate with Benedictine administration and in-state/out-of-state agencies in any inspection or investigation.
• Attend and successfully complete mandatory trainings and maintain job-specific certifications/licenses.
• Maintenance Staff shares On-Call responsibilities for emergency repairs outside of normal working hours.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must have 5 years related experience performing maintenance duties in a commercial setting (school, factory, warehouse, apartment complex, municipal buildings, etc.)

Must have licensure and/or working knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

• Plumbing
• Mechanical maintenance and repair

• Must be reliable and consistently meet schedule requirements.
• Must be able to complete assigned work with minimum supervision.
• Must be flexible, able to adjust priorities and work pace based on urgent needs.
• Must be able to use tools and equipment necessary to perform the work in a safe manner.
• Must have some computer skills to access web-based programs.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in US upon offer.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass pre-employment criminal background checks through CJIS as stated in Family Law Article 5-561, and pass pre-employment CPS check.
• Must have current and valid driver’s license in good standing and must have a driving record that would permit coverage under Benedictine driver’s insurance.
• Must be a strong advocate of the Benedictine mission to help children and adults with development disabilities achieve their greatest potential, and be motivated to contribute to the mission with pride and integrity.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift or push 50 lbs.
• Must be able to see clearly with ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must have functional range of motion in all legs, arms, hands and fingers.
• Must be physically able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• Must be able to speak and hear clearly.
• Must be able to perform assigned work outdoors, in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain and snow.
