Maintenance Manager
To ensure the facility and equipment are maintained in excellent condition and in a manner conducive with good manufacturing practices and to control maintenance expenditures.
This position will ensure the facility and equipment are maintained in excellent condition and in a manner conducive with good manufacturing practices and to control maintenance expenditures.
1. Ensure the safety of all employees and plant working conditions. Assist in training and developing all maintenance personnel, i.e. compliance with MOSHA standards.
2. Advise Maintenance Manager of all critical issues and assist in advanced planning to prevent problems.
3. Manage and direct the workload of all plant mechanics.
4. Staff, train and develop personnel as required to maintain the plant and equipment.
5. Work with management to ensure compliance with all State and Federal environmental regulations.
6. Work with management to meet all Company and plant goals.
7. Work with Maintenance Manager to maintain the plant budgets for Maintenance labor, parts and repair spending, and maintenance of facility and grounds.
8. Develop and manage the annual overhaul process.
9. Develop preventative maintenance task lists.
10. Utilize materials and labor in a manner to keep costs at a minimum. Approve overtime.
11. Ensure cross-training of work group in different areas and equipment to have adequate coverage at all times.
12. Continuously reviews equipment operations and line conditions in order to minimize any unplanned downtime; anticipate problems; plan future repairs and identify opportunities for improvement.
13. Supports equipment upgrades, plant improvements, expansions, and installations by conferring and collaborating with other operations personnel, design engineers and outside contractors.
14. Carry out projects that improve efficiencies, reduce operating cost or improves equipment reliability with or without assistance. Observe, documents and offers suggestions for facility equipment modifications, changes and upgrades that improve plant environment.
15. Perform duties while working safely – awareness/identification of hazards, ensuring proper PPE is worn, maintaining a clutter free work area, following safety procedures and polices (ex. LO/TO, Confined Space, Right To Understand, Fall Protection, etc.)
16. Correct and/or report unsafe acts and unsafe working condition through proper procedures.
17. Ensure food safety/quality polices are followed, to report all food safety/quality problems out of his/her realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
18. Responsible to make sure a good safe wholesome product is produced safely.
19. All other duties as required.
