Facilities Mechanic
The Facilities Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of all exterior areas throughout the property to ensure a well-kept and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This role plays a critical part in preserving the operational integrity of the grounds by performing routine landscaping, debris removal, and equipment operation in accordance with established standards. Shift: Day 7:00am-4:00pm
ResponsibilitiesWhere you'll make an impact:
- Responsible for cutting, weeding, and edging the grass, raking the leaves, and sweeping the parking lots, and garage.
- Responsible for planting, removing, and relocating plants, flowers, trees, and bushes.
- Removing all trash and debris from parking lot areas and grounds. Emptying trash containers.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as trucks, utility vehicles, pavement sweepers and scrubbers, pressure washers, litter vacuums, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring all signs, posts, and chain fences are straight and secure.
- Responsible to ensure all outside areas are clean, orderly, safe, and are at the highest level of maintenance at all times.
- Must be available for weather events such as snow removal or other storms.
- May be called upon and assigned from time to time to assist with internal logistics and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Use all necessary tools and equipment to perform maintenance functions.
- Answer all calls promptly and maintain politeness. Pay attention to the needs of guests and team members at all times.
- Knowledge of OSHA required standards and safety requirements.

- Communication and customer service skills.
- High aptitude for learning.
Must-haves:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Zero (0) to two (2) years' experience with grounds keeping and or outdoor maintenance of a commercial property/facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as determined by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
Physical requirements:
- Lift and or push up to 80 lbs.
- Standing for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Work in small, confined areas.
- Frequent bending at the waist.
- Use of stairs and elevators
Working conditions:
- 24/7 high energy casino with over 300,000 sq. ft of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 3000 employees
- Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.
- You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed.
Please note that this is a union position, and individuals in this role may be required to pay applicable union dues and fees.
