First Shift Head Custodian

Job Responsibilities

Shall be responsible for cleaning of those areas of the building which may be designated by Administration.

Shall be responsible for supervision of all other custodians (if assigned) assigned to the building. This includes the development of daily work schedules during the summer months.

Shall make periodic inspections of the building to determine cleanliness, repair and maintenance needs. Any repairs needed which are beyond his/her capacity shall be reported to the Assistant Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds.

Shall be responsible for the maintenance of an up-to-date inventory of janitorial supplies on hand.

Shall be responsible for the issuing of written requisitions to the Assistant Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds for custodial supplies and equipment as needed.

Shall be responsible for the heating system of the building and the early notification of the Chief Operations Officer and Assistant Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds should problems exist which might require the closing of the building.

Shall be responsible for the safety, security, cleanliness and sanitation of the building and grounds to which he/she is assigned.

Shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by Administration.

Minimum Job Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or GED
Must be able to pass a BCI&I and FBI criminal background check
Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift in excess of 50 lbs on a routine and ongoing basis
Must have a proven history of good attendance
