Rate of Pay:
Range based on experience, starting at $20.76 per hour
Description:
* Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner
* Perform minor repairs, including, but not limited to, glass replacement, electrical repairs, wood repairs, painting, and metal repairs
* Maintain safety of building
* Maintain playground equipment
* Operate and perform routine maintenance on the heating system
* Operate and maintain the waste and sewage system
* Maintain school grounds and landscape
* Perform other duties as assigned by Principal/Head Maintenance/Superintendent
NOTE:

Essential Functions:
* Perform general labor inside and outside the physical plant including district wide grounds keeping, handling materials and supplies, moving equipment, operating power-driver equipment, mowing, etc.
* Assist with custodial or maintenance duties

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain all safety and code requirements of the federal, state, and local board of education guidelines
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor
Preferred Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivilant
* BCII report
* Valid driver's license
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to work effectively with others
* Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
* Effective, active listening skills
* Organizational and problem solving skills
* Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, written warnings, and labels
* Ability to operate machinery
Equipment Operated:
* Carpentry tools
* Lawnmower
* Various hand tools and power tools
Additional
Working Conditions:
* Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue
* Frequent travel between buildings and to get supplies
* Occasional repetitive hand motion, e.g., use of hand tools
* Occasional requirement to work in high places
* Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic, dangerous, or caustic chemicals, e.g., chlorine, asbestos, welding dust
* Occasional exposure to loud noises, e.g., power tools
