Position Summary

The Facilities and Maintenance Specialist owns and administers the Mason site’s facilities, maintenance, environmental, and safety programs. This role ensures the site operates safely, reliably, and in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.

This is primarily a coordination and program-ownership role
. The Specialist manages preventive maintenance systems, oversees facility operations, coordinates internal resources and external vendors, and assists with safety programs. Most hands‑on work is performed by vendors or internal direct labor; this role ensures work is planned, executed, documented, and continuously improved.

The role partners with external service providers and program resources to support specialized compliance and technical requirements while maintaining site ownership and accountability. The Specialist works cross‑functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and external service providers to support production uptime, facility readiness, regulatory compliance, and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Own day‑to‑day facility operations
, ensuring building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, security, fire protection, and grounds) operate safely and reliably.

Serve as the primary point of contact for facility, maintenance, and safety requests; prioritize work orders and coordinate internal resources and external vendors.

Administer the site preventive maintenance (PM) program
, including asset records, PM scheduling, service documentation, and CMMS data integrity.

Plan and coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and operational disruption.

Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for facility services, inspections, waste management, and maintenance activities, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.

Assist with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Assist with incident investigations and execute corrective actions.

Coordinate environmental compliance activities
, including waste handling, chemical storage, vendor management, inspections, and required reporting.

Support facility, maintenance, and EHS projects
, including vendor selection, scheduling, budgeting support, and execution tracking.

Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance safety, reliability, cost control, and facility readiness.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Safety, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

3–5+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance coordination, or a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance, facility, or safety‑related work.

Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facility infrastructure.

Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and environmental compliance practices
, with the ability to coordinate compliance activities using internal and external resources.

Experience administering preventive maintenance programs or CMMS systems preferred.

Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems
.

Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally across all levels of the organization.

Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain forklift certification.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform light hands‑on maintenance tasks as needed.
