Cleaner – 2nd Shift
The Cleaner will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services.
Responsibilities- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
- Use light and heavy (commercial type) floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
- Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas.
- Spot‑clean daily and shampoo rugs when directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills, glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior and exterior.
- Wash or spot‑clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures include damp‑wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
- Monitor potential defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and deliver it to the designated collection area for removal.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers in accordance with specifications.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps, walkways, building entrances, and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing.
- Carry out any additional duties as assigned.
- Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
- Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack‑style vacuum cleaner.
- Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
The compensation for the position ranges from $15.73 to $18.50 per hour, dependent on factors such as geographic location, date of hire, total hours worked, and applicable collective bargaining agreements. The company will not pay less than minimum wage.
