Seasonal Maintenance (April 1 - October 31)
Job Summary:
Sycamore Community Schools is seeking reliable and motivated individuals to support our Maintenance team during the summer months. This position plays a key role in preparing and maintaining our buildings and outdoor spaces to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for the upcoming school year.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
* Operating lawn care equipment, including mowers and string trimmers
* General grounds maintenance, including mulching and weeding
* Assisting with moving furniture and equipment within school buildings
* Stadium and athletic facility cleaning and preparation
* Supporting custodial teams with interior cleaning as needed
* Assisting with light maintenance tasks, including painting as needed
* Performing other duties as assigned to support summer maintenance operations
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED required
* Valid Driver's License required
* Experience operating lawn care equipment (mowers, trimmers) preferred
* Ability to safely drive a truck and/or pull a trailer is desired
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Additional Information:
* This position will primarily involve outdoor work, with some indoor responsibilities as needed
* Candidates must be able to follow safety procedures and work collaboratively with district staff
