The Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a wide range of routine and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and custodial tasks to ensure buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role supports day-to-day facility operations and helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment for staff, visitors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities Building & Equipment Maintenance- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues (e.g., lighting, outlets, switches).
- Address plumbing needs including leaks, clogged drains, and fixture repairs.
- Maintain and repair doors, locks, windows, flooring, furniture, and general building components.
- Respond to daily maintenance tickets and urgent repair requests in a timely manner.
- Set up and break down furniture, equipment, and spaces for meetings, events, or operational needs.
- Assist with inventory management for maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Work with outside vendors or contractors as needed for specialized repairs.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all OSHA, local codes, and organizational safety guidelines.
- Identify potential hazards and report or address them promptly.
- Support emergency response efforts, including snow/ice removal, storm prep, or facility shutdowns.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, construction, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Valid driver’s license (if required by organization).
