OVERVIEW

Bridge Boston Charter School is a tuition-free, K1-8 public school serving 335 students in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and the surrounding community- many of whom have experienced social, emotional, and developmental barriers to learning. Bridge Boston's robust social-emotional program is designed with an eye to supporting students who have experienced trauma in their homes and communities.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Head Custodian, the Custodian will specifically, they will be responsible for:

Building Maintenance & Repairs

* Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs.

* Assist with painting classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.

* Assemble furniture, install shelving, and complete other small maintenance projects.

Custodial Services

* Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, conference rooms, cafeterias, gym spaces, and common areas.

* Empty trash and recycling throughout the building.

* Follow all safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Grounds & Outdoor Maintenance

* Assist with lawn mowing, landscaping, weeding, and shrub maintenance.

* Maintain outdoor common areas and school grounds.

* Support seasonal projects and campus beautification efforts.

* Remove snow and ice from walkways and entrances when necessary.

Operations Support

* Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.

* Assist with classroom setups and summer building preparations.

* Perform other duties as assigned to support summer operations and facility readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, climbing, and moving equipment.

* Experience with custodial, maintenance, painting, or landscaping work preferred.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.

* Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Required Experience

* 2-3 years of experience

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $27/hour
