We are looking for a Technician – Plumber to maintain, troubleshoot and repair all plumbing and mechanical systems at BMS Devens. The role supports multiple manufacturing operations and requires on‑call availability, overtime, and multi‑shift coverage.
Shift Details- Rotating Day Shift (5 am – 5 pm): 5% shift differential
- Rotating Night Shift (5 pm – 5 am): 20% shift differential
- Maintain and repair reheat coils, potable and non‑potable water systems, fire pumps and sprinkler systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot customer service calls for water systems inside our buildings.
- Partner with subject‑matter experts and Reliability services to resolve operational issues.
- Capture all relevant repair and maintenance data on work orders.
- Support Biologics Large Scale Commercial Manufacturing, Biologics Clinical Manufacturing, Biologics Cell Bank Manufacturing, Biologics Development & Laboratory operations, and CAR‑T Manufacturing at Devens.
- Provide uninterrupted support for all facility operational activities.
- Analyze system data and recommend maintenance changes, upgrades or replacements.
- Maintain complete documentation in a central resource location for all repairs or changes.
- Monitor and adjust water, heating, cooling, boiler and ventilation systems to ensure proper operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance on base building and critical plumbing equipment.
- Clean work area, return tools to workshop, and store supplies appropriately.
- Report equipment problems or material shortages to Operational Manager.
- Manage tools and order supplies as needed.
- Follow safety policies for the storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
- High School diploma, state equivalent, or GED.
- 2+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent, preferred.
- Massachusetts Journeyman Plumbing License (required).
- Massachusetts Gas license – plus.
- Boiler license or EPA certification – plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate hand tools, ladders up to 28 ft, and required equipment.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and on roofs.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and deliver results across functional lines.
