Seasonal Laborer II – Erving State Forest

- Clean and maintain public areas such as restrooms, campgrounds, parking lots, trails, beaches, etc.
- Perform manual labor tasks requiring specialized skill, including installing, repairing and maintaining regulatory, historic, and informational signs.
- Plant, transplant, prune, trim, fertilize trees, flowers, and shrubs; seed lawns and gardens; spray for insects and plant diseases; cut grass, rake leaves, and water as required for upkeep and beautification.
- Load and unload trucks, unpack and store supplies, and take periodic inventories.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tools: wash, inspect, tighten, lubricate, sharpen cutting tools.
- Repair and paint guard rails; set up traffic control devices; sweep, collect, and remove trash.
- Operate handheld power tools and attach accessories to tractors and trucks for various tasks such as grass cutting, roadway cleaning, and snow removal.
- Operate motor vehicles including light vehicles and trucks as needed.
- Operate camp registration offices, issue admission tickets, receive receipts, and maintain simple records.
- Perform related duties as required.

Minimum entrance requirements:
- At least six months of full‑time (or equivalent part‑time) experience performing manual labor in connection with general construction or maintenance work.
