Salary Range: $26.00 To $29.00 Annually

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a wide variety of hands-on maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance duties throughout Austen Riggs Center campus. This position is intended for a well-rounded technician with experience in multiple areas of commercial building maintenance.

What You'll Do

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs involving basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical equipment, including air handlers, mini-splits, boilers, ductless systems, hot water and ventilation systems.
• Support building automation systems (BMS), electronic wireless locks, key management, and other building systems.
• Perform general carpentry, painting, bedrooms, bathroom common areas repairs, office and furniture move, and other general maintenance work.
• Assist with the maintenance and basic understanding of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
• Complete maintenance work orders using computerized maintenance management software.
• Inspect equipment and building areas during daily work and proactively identify and report potential maintenance issues before they become larger problems.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and communicate findings or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Work safely and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance and operation of the facilities.

What We're Looking For

• Experience performing maintenance in commercial, institutional, residential, or multi-building facilities.
• Hands-on experience with a variety of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• General knowledge of carpentry, painting, and other building maintenance trades.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to recognize potential equipment or building issues.
• Ability to communicate professionally and provide updates both within the team and to others on campus.
• Proactive, dependable, and able to anticipate maintenance needs and address concerns before they become urgent.
• Comfortable performing a wide variety of hands-on tasks and willing to assist wherever needed.
• Ability to use maintenance work order and preventive maintenance software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Willingness to participate in the department's rotating on-call schedule and respond to facilities emergencies as needed.
• Ability to work occasional weekends and after hours for special jobs and projects that need to be done outside normal working hours.
