Job Description

Day/Night Custodian
- The Fisher Hill School is seeking a substitute custodian starting now through October 15th, 2026. The hours for this position are flexible based on the candidate.

Salary- $19.44 - $19.97/hr dependent on shift

General Duties

Does general cleaning of classrooms, corridors, toilets and other areas. Work areas will be assigned by the Head Custodian.
Works under the supervision of Head Custodian
Paid Hourly

Specific Duties

Empties trash containers

Dry mops all classrooms and areas assigned

Vacuums throw rugs by entrance ways

Cleans fixtures in all male and female lavatories;
Wet mops floors

Vacuums rugs

Cleans all window ledges, chalkboard chalk trays, and any other dust collecting surfaces

Does other custodial related tasks from time to time as designated by Head Custodian

Assists with corridor stripping and waxing when conducted

Mops or wet towels corridors on a daily basis.

Removes black marks from corridors

Removes all graffiti when discovered

Ensures all windows are secured and locks door on departure from each area

Washes classroom door and corridor windows daily as needed

Wet mops corridor floor daily

Wet mops Medical & Health suite with disinfectant daily

Dust and wet mop cafeteria daily, as directed by Head Custodian

Lifts, moves, and rearranges school furniture as needed for room cleaning and scheduled events. (Some heavy and repetitive lifting involved)

Snow removal

Other duties as assigned by Head Custodian/Principal
