About the Cleaner Role

As the Cleaner, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the facility to ensure an outstanding member experience. Cleanliness is critical to the Planet Fitness brand and the safety of team members and members.

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize all common areas (i.e., restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, Black Card Spa) according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
• Vacuum floor surfaces and operate the floor scrubber machine according to an established schedule.
• Properly dispose of trash and maintain the trash cans / cleaning centers.
• Replenish supplies and paper products as needed; communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
• Clean and dust items high off the ground (i.e., ceiling fans, TVs, rafters).
• Report any broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
• Operate washing machine and dryer.
• Maintain cleaning equipment (e.g., cleaning the mop bucket, emptying vacuum bags).

• Greet members and guests and assist with questions or concerns as they check in.
• Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
• Execute retail transactions with accuracy and drive sales goals.
• Resolve member concerns and, if needed, elevate to a Manager.
• Perform a comprehensive walk of all club areas to quickly fix safety/policy issues and address cleanliness concerns.

• The hourly pay range is $17.00 to $18.25.

• Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Willing to become CPR/AED certified (training provided).
• Basic computer proficiency.

• Continual standing and moving throughout the club.
• Continual in‑person or phone communication.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Exposure to toxic chemicals.
• Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
• Movements including bending and twisting.
