Industrial Maintenance Supervisor
We're looking for a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations at our client's Massillon or Canton plant. In this role, you'll oversee a team of skilled maintenance technicians, ensure equipment reliability, and help keep our food manufacturing operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
This position partners closely with Production, Quality, and Sanitation teams to support continuous operations while maintaining strict food safety and regulatory standards.
1st shift: 5/6 AM – 2/2:30 PM
2nd shift: 2 PM - 10:30 PM
$85K plus, based on experience
Onsite in Massillon or Canton
What You'll DoLead & Develop the Maintenance Team
- Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians across multiple shifts
- Assign daily work orders, track progress, and ensure timely completion
- Conduct performance evaluations and support ongoing skill development
- Promote a strong safety culture and enforce all facility safety policies
- Oversee preventive maintenance (PM) programs to reduce downtime
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ensure proper operation of processing, packaging, refrigeration, and utility equipment
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and equipment history
- Ensure maintenance activities meet GMP, HACCP, SQF, and FDA/USDA standards
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to prevent contamination risks during maintenance work
- Partner with production teams to prioritize repairs and minimize disruptions
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when needed
- Assist with capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through improved processes or equipment enhancements
- 3–5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 1–3+ years of supervisory or lead technician experience
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and industrial automation systems
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP, SQF)
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call rotations
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Comfortable working in cold, hot, or humid environments typical of food production
