Overview
Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist I within the Cox Automotive Vehicle Operations group. This individual‑contributor role requires presence at a Cox location during the evening shift and involves handling vehicles during auction processes. Compensation is hourly between $16.63 and $24.90 plus potential incentive compensation.
Key Responsibilities- Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld device for each vehicle received at the auction.
- Record VIN, stock number, dealer , make, model, year, mileage, color, options, and other details.
- Affix barcode/stock number stickers, tracker devices, and routing labels to vehicles upon entry.
- Flag “no‑key” vehicles and direct transporters to the correct drop zone.
- Report transport damage as needed and take digital images of vehicles upon receipt.
- Provide sale identification codes to drivers during registration/check‑in.
- Follow all safety and health procedures and model safety behaviors.
- Assist on auction sale days by driving vehicles through sales lanes as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- 1–3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb, and lift 1–15 pounds.
- Adequate vision for close, distance, color, and depth perception.
Monday – Friday, 1:30pm – 10:00pm.
Work EnvironmentFrequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise level.
Drug TestingPre‑employment drug testing is required. No marijuana testing for this position; possession, use, or influence of illegal drugs is prohibited during work hours and on company property.
