As the instructional leader for a single site, youll be teaching a primary group of students with diverse learning needs, designing engaging lessons in a structured, self-contained setting. Hours run from 8:20am to 3:05pm, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent schedule ideal for maintaining classroom continuity and strong student connections.
Qualifications & Preferred Background- Valid LBS1 certification is required
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher within school settings preferred
- Strong understanding of instructional best practices for special education populations, particularly in early grades (K-1)
- Skilled in managing small group or individual instruction; experience in a self-contained classroom highly valued
- Effective communicatorable to collaborate with parents, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Highly organized, adaptable, and committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning community
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement individualized instructional programs aligned with students IEPs
- Develop engaging lessons targeting both academic and functional skills
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, progress notes, and records
- Partner with general education staff and support personnel as needed
- Foster an encouraging classroom atmosphere, supporting students social-emotional growth
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
