Job Description

Perform procedures and duties to maintain a neat, clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility.

• Maintain a safe and clean cafeteria by cleaning spills, drops, and messes.
• Wash cafeteria floors and walls near trash barrels.
• Move chairs and tables and wash floors with scrubbing machines.
• Strip and refinish cafeteria floors periodically as assigned.
• Paint walls and replace missing lights in the cafeteria.
• Remove foreign materials, sweep, and dry mop floors and stairs.
• Wash and buff classroom and hallway floors using appropriate equipment.
• Strip or heavily scrub floors when needed, applying finish by hand.
• Move furniture to do floors and care for floor care equipment.
• Collect trash, dispose of it properly, and clean spills or accidents on floors.
• Refill water coolers, shovel snow, spread salt/sand, and replace liners in trash baskets.
• Clean glass, walls, and water fountains; vacuum carpets; and pick up trash on school property.
• Keep areas around dumpsters neat and perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
• Meet performance standards, report to work on time, and interact respectfully with staff and students.

Qualifications:

• Lift frequently without assistance.
• Pull/push wheeled carts, bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, and use full body mechanics.
• Stand or sit for periods as required.
• Withstand temperature variations, noise, and odors.
• Have good vision, hearing, and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
