Special Education Teacher
Exciting opportunity for a certified Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to support students in grades K-12 for the school year! This contract-to-hire role offers candidates the chance to make a real difference in a dedicated school community near Maywood, IL. The assignment runs from August 17, 2026, to June 18, 2027, with the potential for permanent placement after a successful contract period.
Candidates will work as W-2 contractors during the first year and, upon positive performance feedback, may transition to direct employment for future school years. Positions are available for both one-on-one roles and classroom assistance.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (LBS1) in Illinois
- Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings
- Ability to adapt instruction to various learning needs and styles
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for creating inclusive, supportive classroom environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with diverse learning needs
- Implement IEP goals and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and other specialists
- Maintain thorough, up-to-date records regarding student performance
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere where every student can succeed
Pay for this opportunity ranges from $40 to $54 per hour, based on experience and other determining factors. As part of this contract position, you'll receive weekly pay and access to comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options, plus a 401k retirement plan.
