Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and lead the maintenance operations at a large plastics manufacturing facility in Maywood, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastics manufacturing, preferably within thermoforming and extrusion processes. This role requires a hands-on leader with 5-7 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, along with prior supervisory experience of a maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily maintenance operations, ensuring the efficient performance of all machinery and equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing training and ensuring safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within the facility.
- Collaborate with production and engineering to enhance equipment efficiency and support operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within a plastics manufacturing environment (thermoforming and extrusion preferred).
- Proven supervisory or management experience, leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, motors, conveyors, pumps, and industrial automation systems.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices is a plus.
