** What you will do** :

+ Perform comprehensive patient assessments prior to cardiac stress testing procedures, including review of medical history, medications, allergies, and risk factors.

+ Prepare patients for exercise and pharmacologic stress tests, explaining procedures and addressing questions or concerns.

+ Obtain baseline vital signs and electrocardiograms (EKGs) and monitor patient responses throughout testing.

+ Administer medications associated with pharmacologic stress testing according to established protocols and provider orders.

+ Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, cardiac arrhythmias, adverse reactions, and medical emergencies.

+ Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate testing and timely patient care.

+ Monitor and assess patients during the recovery phase following stress testing procedures.

+ Provide education regarding cardiac testing, medications, follow-up care, and heart-healthy lifestyle recommendations.

+ Document patient assessments, test results, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).

+ Ensure compliance with department policies, accreditation standards, and patient safety guidelines.

+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and service excellence.

+ Maintain equipment readiness and assist in ensuring proper functioning of stress testing and monitoring equipment.

+ Support a positive patient experience through professional communication, compassionate care, and teamwork.

* + A Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing is required - BSN or ADN

+ BLS provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire

+ Current Registered Nurse License State of Illinois

+ 1-2 years of previous experience in a clinical setting.

** Compensation:*
* Salary Range: $35.89 - $62.91per hour

_Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles._
