Position Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Rama Shankar at Loyola University Chicago is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join a newly established research program focused on systems immunology and multi-omics approaches to study sepsis, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), and critical illness. The successful candidate will lead innovative projects integrating single-cell and bulk transcriptomics, epigenomics, and clinical data to identify immune mechanisms and biomarkers associated with disease progression and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead independent and collaborative research projects.
- Analyze and integrate multi-omics datasets.
- Develop computational pipelines using R/Python.
- Collaborate with clinical teams.
- Prepare manuscripts and contribute to grant applications.
- Mentor students and research staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- M.D. or PhD Required.
- Experience with bench work.
- Experience with single-cell and multi-omics integration.
- Familiarity with RNA-seq, EdgeR, Seurat, Harmony, Monocle3, or scVelo.
- Knowledge of immunology.
- Experience with clinical datasets and HPC.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
- General office suite and willingness to learn lab-specific programs.
- Strong programming skills in R and/or Python.
- Experience with Next Generation sequencing.
- Record of peer-reviewed publications.
Position Maximum Salary: $75,564/ann;
Position Minimum Salary: $62,232/ann.
