Postdoctoral Fellow in Virus-Host Interactions (Mounce Lab)
The Mounce Lab at Loyola University Chicago is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study virus-host interactions and develop new approaches to antiviral discovery.
Our research is at the intersection of virology, cell biology, and cellular metabolism
, with projects focused on how viruses exploit host pathways and how these pathways can be targeted therapeutically.
Applicants should have a PhD in virology, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related field
. Experience with relevant molecular, cellular, imaging, virological, or screening approaches is desirable. Experience writing scientific manuscripts and fellowship/grant applications is also highly valued.
Expertise in virology is not required. We encourage applicants with complementary expertise in cell biology, metabolism, biochemistry, pharmacology, chemical biology, imaging, or drug discovery who are interested in bringing their skills to virus-host biology.
The position provides opportunities for scientific independence, project development, publications, fellowship and grant writing, and career development in a collaborative research environment
