Job Title Courier and Maintenance Assistant JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary To perform cleaning duties at AHSTI's McAllen office locations and to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of these facilities. Additionally, responsible for basic maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, and handling small jobs at AHSTI offices. Tasks include picking up and delivering messages, documents, packages, and other items between AHSTI offices (McAllen and Weslaco) and its affiliated entities or other establishments efficiently and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

- Perform cleaning duties of McAllen office locations, including but not limited to cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, vacuuming carpets and rugs, mopping and sweeping floors, dusting and wiping down surfaces, emptying trash bins and replacing liners, cleaning windows and mirrors, and ensuring all areas are kept tidy and presentable.
- Manage set-up and clean-up tasks as needed, including arranging furniture and ensuring areas are tidy. This also encompasses preparing for special events, both within and outside AHSTI offices.
- Actively participate in AHSTI's Green Movement and dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner ensuring that it is available for collection as required.
- Monitor stock levels of consumable items and arrange to replenish supplies according to procedures.
- Perform general maintenance in all buildings, including but not limited to painting walls and touch-ups as needed, waxing and polishing floors, replacing light bulbs, cleaning and maintaining carpets, performing minor repairs, and addressing any building issues that arise and coordinating with relevant contractors if necessary.
- Carry out some ground maintenance and coordinate with landscaping subcontractor when applicable.
- Assist in performing regular, basic inspections for company vehicles.
- Walk, drive vehicles, or use public conveyances to reach destination to deliver messages or materials.
- Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, email or in person.
- Deliver messages, items, documents, and packages between departments at AHSTI offices and its' affiliated entities to other establishments.
- Load vehicles with listed goods, ensuring goods are loaded correctly and taking precautions with hazardous goods.
- Confirm deliveries and collections with all AHSTI offices and its' related entities to receive instructions for other deliveries.
- Report emergencies to the Courier and Maintenance Manager and the Executive Vice President/Chief Operations Officer, or when not immediately available, a director level position.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution
- 1 or more years of experience in general maintenance and delivery
- Valid, current, and non-restricted driver's license.
- Fluent in English language in both written and verbal styles.
This job operates 40% in the field and 60% in a professional office environment.

Frequent physical activities include standing, walking, using hands for handling or manipulating objects, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee will also be frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including rain, heat, and humidity.
The work environment typically has a high noise level. Additionally, the employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently.
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the organization's core work hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A minimum of 40 hours per week is expected.
TravelThis position may require frequent travel. Employees may also be required to drive up to 100 miles round trip in a company vehicle in a single day.
