Job Overview
The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and carrying out floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behaviors in others and self.
- Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
- Fill in during staff shortages such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance roles.
- Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
- Use proper personal protective equipment required for assigned tasks.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and the environment.
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Use and maintain equipment properly.
- Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
- Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs "wet floor".
- Ability to work without normal supervision.
- Report safety hazards as appropriate.
Floor Technician
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, a candidate must meet the following requirements.
Education and/or Experience
No education requirement. 6 months to 1 year experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver's license may be required. Must complete all safety and task training certifications. Forklift certification may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with the team.
- Knowledge of equipment upkeep and care.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Physical demands include frequent sitting, talking, and listening. Must lift or move up to 35 pounds.
- Work environment may involve various departments; reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
Monday-Friday: 5pm-10pm
$17.65-$18.65 per hour
