SUMMARY

OF POSITION

Under general supervision of the Airport Maintenance Supervisor, this position will conduct airfield and facility maintenance. Additional responsibilities include tasks related to airport operational safety, security and environmental protection programs. Employees in this classification perform skilled and manual work. Performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains the physical grounds of the airport, including cuts grass, trims trees and shrubs, tends and plants flower beds, removes trash from lawns and parking lots, etc.
  • Performs painting, cleaning, maintenance and repair on airport property, structures, facilities, signage, and buildings.
  • Performs day‑to‑day activities outlined in the airport's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention and Countermeasure Control Plan (SPCC).
  • Monitors the airport grounds for hazards and security related issues with regard to FAA regulations.
  • Removes foreign object debris (FOD) from the Air Operations Area (AOA) and other areas of the airport.
  • Maintains the airport maintenance facility in an organized and orderly fashion.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment and coordinates other maintenance and repairs as necessary.
  • Utilizes various manual, gas, and handheld electrical tools and equipment in installing or repairing facilities, equipment, fences, or related structures (e.g., saws, welders, drills, hammers, shovels).
