Building Maintenance Technician II

Collin County is seeking candidates to fill the position of Building Maintenance Technician II. A Building Maintenance Technician II is responsible for conducting inspections and making necessary repairs to various structures and mechanical equipment. Work is performed under the direction of the Facilities Technical Coordinator.

Primary Functions:

  • Performing maintenance and repairing of HVAC components, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facility related items.
  • Assisting with the renovation and remodeling of buildings.
  • Monitoring energy controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Must have at least six (6) months of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required.
  • Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
