Maintenance Engineer - JLL

As a Maintenance Engineer at JLL you will keep critical building systems running smoothly while strategically planning for the future. The role combines hands‑on technical expertise with proactive planning and scheduling to ensure maintenance operations are reactive and preventive. You will own preventive maintenance programs, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and develop comprehensive schedules that minimize downtime and maximize asset performance.

• Inspect and analyze equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and make adjustments to minimize service interruptions and downtime.
• Provide input to the planning of equipment system maintenance to reduce service interruptions through reliability‑centered maintenance practices.
• Execute a wide variety of maintenance and repair work on boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment and building infrastructure.
• Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities performed by JLL and/or contract personnel.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to ensure personnel perform tasks accurately and with outstanding customer service.
• Perform complex operating procedures to ensure proper operation of high‑pressure steam boilers, lab utilities, emergency generators, propane vaporizers and other systems.
• Conduct scheduled tours of boiler plant, chiller plant, lab utility equipment, cooling towers, emergency generator rooms, switch gear rooms, air handling rooms, steam stations and condensate return systems; complete tours and watch reports according to the schedule.
• Respond to all emergencies during after‑hour shifts, identify problems, and take corrective actions.
• Call on duty mechanics or use the emergency call list when necessary.
• Maintain all engineering/electrical spaces in a clean and neat manner at all times.
• Review executed work orders, logs, forms and related documentation daily to ensure completeness and proper filing in the CMMS or required system.
• Ensure safety, environmental and site standards are strictly adhered to; comply with OSHA regulations, building codes and JLL policies.

• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Associate’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in building maintenance, facilities operations or a related field.
• Proven experience with planning and scheduling maintenance activities using CMMS platforms.
• Working knowledge of building automation, system controls and fire alarm systems.
• Proficient computer and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients, vendors and team members at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and plan work without direct supervision.

• Relevant trade certifications such as HVAC certification, electrical license or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) designation.
• Proficiency with maintenance management software such as Maximo, Corrigo or similar CMMS platforms and Direct Digital Control systems.
• Project management experience that includes vendor management, budget oversight and contractor coordination.
