Location
Meadville, Pennsylvania – 135,000 sq ft facility with 290 employees. 45 minutes from Pittsburgh.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair all plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot machines or equipment, replace defective parts, order parts not in stock, and adjust equipment as necessary.
- Diagnose unusual sounds from machines to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with operators and other maintenance workers to correct problems or repair machines.
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and replace parts as needed in existing systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, program listings, schematics, and mechanical and wiring diagrams.
- Proactively detect and correct machine performance problems.
- Perform all preventative and scheduled maintenance as assigned.
- Ensure all safety devices are installed and operational.
- Clean and lubricate machine parts as required.
- Inspect and test machinery and equipment as required.
- Install equipment and complete work orders as assigned.
- Prepare for work by collecting required tools and parts before shutting down equipment.
- Work with Operations to plan start and stop of downtime in production.
- Ensure that work is completed according to schedule.
- Follow all lock out/tag out procedures.
- Contact appropriate person when questions arise.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and procedures.
- Follow all SOPs.
- Inform A-lead and Food Safety of any food safety concerns.
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructions.
- Follow all GMPs.
- Access needed parts and track usage according to established methods.
- Communicate with team members to convey status, bring up concerns, or point out roadblocks to returning equipment to production.
- A post‑secondary degree is preferred, consisting of a minimum of 2 years vocational training in a maintenance or engineering related field.
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) preferred.
- Prefer five or more years of engineering or maintenance experience in a food processing plant environment.
- Thorough understanding and adherence to OSHA and company safety regulations (LOTO, CSE, PPE, etc.).
- Comprehensive understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance.
- Ability to achieve results while simultaneously executing multiple projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of CMMS and Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a customer service environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment with multiple functional groups.
- Mechanical – basic trouble‑shooting skills with bearings, actuators, gearboxes, etc.
- PLCs – ability to call up screen and understand the logic.
- Climb ladders and bins.
- Maneuver in tight spaces.
- Move items of 55–80 lbs. in weight from one place to another.
- Stack repetitiously 60 lbs. or less.
- Differentiate between colors.
- Work in extreme temperature conditions (very hot or very cold).
