Help keep Medford moving as a Parking Garage/Parking Lot Maintenance Worker with the City of Medford’s Facilities Management team. If you take pride in work you can see at the end of the day, you will appreciate the consistent core duties with enough day-to-day variety to keep things moving. You will keep our downtown parking garages and surface lots clean, safe, and welcoming through pressure washing, painting, minor repairs, graffiti removal, litter pickup, restroom cleaning and restocking, landscape and irrigation work, and more.

Much of the work is independent and hands-on, with occasional interaction with the public.

Required

Education and Experience
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Have one (1) year of experience in a general labor role.
Additional Eligibility Requirements

Knowledge of:

  • Technical machinery, such as:
    • Power tools
    • Leaf blower
    • Hedge trimmer
    • Pressure washer
Available Schedule
  • Wednesday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

The anticipated hiring range for the Parking Garage/Parking Lot Maintenance Worker position is $18.36 (first step) to $19.28 or $20.24 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act.

Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Essential Functions of the Position
  • Routine interior and exterior maintenance on parking garages and surface lots.
  • Light maintenance including painting, minor repairs and pressure washing.
  • Performs limited landscape maintenance and irrigation repairs.
  • Open and closes parking garage restrooms. Services parking garage restrooms to ensure they are clean and fully stocked.
  • Performs related labor duties such as cleaning, picking up litter and debris, emptying trash, graffiti removal in parking lots and parking garages.
  • May also clear walkways, rake leaves, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
  • Work is sometimes performed in right-of-way areas.
  • Performs a variety of minor routine building maintenance tasks; identifies and reports building maintenance needs.
  • Adheres to safety practices and standards when performing all duties.
  • Scope of assigned area will depend on departmental and/or citywide operational structure and is at the discretion of the Supervisor.
  • Upholds the values of the organization and has strong customer service orientation.
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance, arrive and remain in complete uniform before and during scheduled shifts.
