The Custodian provides general janitorial services daily by maintaining common areas, restrooms, offices, and parking lots. Maintains grounds by cleaning high traffic areas, removing debris, sweeping, and emptying trash containers.

• Perform general janitorial duties including vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash and recycling containers, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, cleaning windows and floors, and spot-cleaning other areas as needed.
• Perform general outdoor custodial duties including sweeping parking lots, picking up litter, and emptying trash containers.
• Inspect janitorial closet and restrooms daily for cleanliness and restocking of products.
• Maintain department equipment and tools in good working order.
• Perform other duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team, and/or mission.

• Education, training and/or credentialing appropriate for an entry-level custodial staff member.
• Familiar with janitorial techniques and safe, proper use of janitorial products.
• Understand and utilize Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to independently manage tasks and set priorities.

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Exercise good judgment, resourcefulness, and initiative.
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment.
