POSITION SUMMARY
The Facility Technician I provides maintenance duties in Facilities across the Health First Integrated
Delivery Network (IDN) including Inspections, Repairs, Preventative Maintenance of buildings, grounds
and applicable equipment. The Facility Technician I supports the adherence to all the safety, efficiency
and reliability of facilities by leveraging knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
across all on and off site locations.
PRIMARY
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Performs various basic maintenance activities such as, but not limited too; changing ceiling tiles,
light bulbs, clean vents and sprinkler heads, clean electrical and mechanical rooms, plunge
sinks-toilets-drains, and deliver oxygen bottles; other duties as assigned.
2. Delivers excellent service to Associates, patients, and visitors, ensuring professionalism and
courtesy in each interaction.
3. Maintains documentation for all work conducted within the computerized maintenance
management system (TMA/FMP) by the timeframe established by our facilities department
service level agreement of completion for each task performed.
4. Assists responses to emergent requests, such as STAT calls to minimize possible downtime
and ensure safety of all Associates, patients and visitors.
5. Maintains, stores and operates applicable tools and equipment, properly cleaning and
lubricating all equipment to reduce maintenance service delays, while overseeing inventory of
parts, supplies, and materials as needed.
6. Ensures adherence to Health First, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
facilities standards, applying all safety practices and protocols in all work performed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Education:
o High School Diploma or equivalent.
o Enrolled in the Health First Facilities Training Program.
o Licensure:
Drivers License and clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) maintained.
* Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
o Ability to provide and maintain required hand tools (job-specific power tools provided).
o Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
o Proficiency with hand and power tools used in maintenance work.
o Ability to perform basic carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Ability to work independently, adapt to changing duties, and respond effectively to
emergencies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing,
or crouching frequently.
* May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
* May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including
tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead.
* May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to
90% of the assigned shift.
