Begin your journey as a Facilities Tech with the Health First Facilities Tech Training Program in partnership with Brevard Adult & Community Education.
As a Facilities Tech, you will help maintain the buildings, systems and equipment that support patient care every day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform maintenance, repairs and inspections.
- Support mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Provide professional service to associates, patients and visitors.
Gain valuable, on-the-job experience while in school – Work per diem as a Facilities Tech while going through the 9 month program.
Easy transition – As a Health First associate you will transition into a full time Facilities Tech position upon course graduation.
QualificationsMust have high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle records.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Facility Technician I provides maintenance duties in Facilities across the Health First Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) including Inspections, Repairs, Preventative Maintenance of buildings, grounds and applicable equipment. The Facility Technician I supports the adherence to all the safety, efficiency and reliability of facilities by leveraging knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems across all on and off site locations.
PRIMARYACCOUNTABILITIES
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Enrolled in the Health First Facilities Training Program;
Licensure:
Drivers License and clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) maintained. - Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to provide and maintain required hand tools (job-specific power tools provided);
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems;
Proficiency with hand and power tools used in maintenance work;
Ability to perform basic carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to work independently, adapt to changing duties, and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently.
- May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
- May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead.
- May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
- May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise.
- May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
