This role is responsible for managing the procurement of materials and equipment to support organizational needs. The Purchaser oversees sourcing, purchase order administration, inventory coordination, and ensuring timely delivery of required materials. This position also contributes to maintaining accurate documentation for shipping, receiving, and inventory activities. Strong purchasing and inventory management experience is essential for success.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Procure materials and equipment to meet operational requirements.
- Identify and source vendors and suppliers.
- Manage purchase orders to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage restocking as necessary.
- Coordinate the delivery of materials in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Maintain documentation systems for shipping, receiving, and inventory tracking.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure materials align with schedules and specifications.
- Track spending categories and alert leadership to potential issues.
- Evaluate vendor performance to ensure quality and compliance.
- Assist with budgeting and cost analysis for procurement activities.
- Resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, or vendor discrepancies.
- Update project files with purchase order confirmations and related information.
Experience &
Education:
- 10+ years of purchasing experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills with proven vendor relationship management.
- Experience with ERP or procurement systems.
- Knowledge of document control, inventory management, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Ability to interpret technical information or drawings is a plus.
- High attention to detail with a strong track record of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual ability is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
