Maintenance Mechanic

Performs routine maintenance to equipment and systems to maintain the integrity of the hospital and associated buildings and property.

• Performs routine maintenance and repairs of tube system; maintains hospital beds; performs routine maintenance of lighting fixtures including changing ballast.
• Maintains and repairs nurse call systems.
• Troubleshoots plumbing problems and provides repairs, including drains, faucets, showers, and sinks.
• Turns on fire alarm systems in the proper sequence without supervision.
• Shuts down and sets up elevators; demonstrates proper procedure for removal of patients, visitors, or staff from stalled or malfunctioning elevators. Works independently on nights and weekends.
• Communicates effectively with fellow staff and supervision.
• Performs routine maintenance functions such as mounting shelving and pictures.
• Keeps work area clean and works in a safe manner.
• Actively participates in snow removal effort when required.

• Required:
  
  High School Diploma
• Preferred:
  High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education

• Required:
  
  1-2 years of previous job‑related experience
• Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job‑related experience

Pay Range: $23.18 - $35.92 per hour

Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, and other factors.
