Description
The (3W) Observation/Medical Stroke Med Surg Unit is an exciting fast‑paced 21‑bed unit located on the 3rd floor of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. All rooms are private and are centrally monitored if clinically indicated. To work in the Observation Unit, our nurses need strong assessment skills, the ability to think critically, adapt to new challenges, and strong communication skills to care for our patient population and work with interdisciplinary teams.
As an Observation unit we are dedicated to our patients by providing quality care with attention to clinical expertise, evidence‑based practices, patient safety and positive outcomes.

Shift12 Hour Day Shift
Patient PopulationOur patient population includes the adult patient with a variety of medical diagnoses such as neurological stroke, infectious disease, other medical conditions, and some cardiac conditions. Patients on our unit may have an average length of stay of 48 hours to four days. We utilize an interdisciplinary team approach along the continuum of care to balance the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs for every patient and their family.

We Seek Colleagues With- A Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing is required - BSN or ADN
- BLS provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire
- Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire
- 1 year of inpatient Nursing Experience preferred
BSN Pay Range: $36.05 - $59.92 per hour
ADN Pay Range: $32.97 - $57.06 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
