Overview
Position:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Wound Care Center. This role works under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider to provide wound‑related and basic nursing care to patients in the center, following all company policies, hospital procedures, care protocols, and clinical guidelines.
- Provide wound‑related patient care in accordance with Basic Life Support (BLS) and approved hospital protocols.
- Assist in the vein clinic after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training—including intake, discharge, and case‑management support as directed by the RN.
- Collect patient information and necessary supplies for the RN or provider.
- Report quality of care issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
- Communicate therapeutic interventions with team members to ensure quality of care.
- Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties (after completing Healogics hyperbaric training).
- Potentially serve as Hyperbaric Safety Director after required training.
- Document patient care as a scribe in accordance with Healogics policy.
- Perform other delegated duties as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or state‑approved educational program.
- Currently licensed as an LPN or LVN in the state of practice, with license maintained throughout employment.
- Two or more years of experience as an LPN/LVN, including at least one year in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long‑term acute care hospital (LTACH) setting.
- Wound‑care experience is preferred.
- Competency in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory and accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills.
- Customer service and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong teamwork, problem‑solving, and composure in all situations.
- Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems.
- Stationary position for extended periods (4+ hours).
- Viewing a computer screen for 4+ hours.
- Frequent keyboard use for 4+ hours.
- Reading, communicating, writing, color perception, close and peripheral vision.
- Lifting/moving items up to 20 pounds; lifting up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, and reaching/grasping with hands.
- Normal office environment, primarily indoors.
- Patient care environment with exposure to blood borne pathogens, toxic chemicals, flammable gases, and mechanical equipment.
- Proximity to moving objects.
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $27.18 and $35.81 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, geography, and operational needs.
