Tractor Diesel Mechanic/Technician

Starting Pay: $38.44 per hour (Union Shop Local 701). Union health benefits (BCBS free for employee and family).

• Maintain proficiency in diagnosis and repair of all assigned equipment (Volvo D13, Tractor EV & Reefer experience a plus).
• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.
• Perform system repairs including engines, transmission, air and hydraulic systems, tires, drive‑train, steering, suspension, electrical, and AC.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections, state and federal mandated safety inspections, and complete repairs in accordance with DOT requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, and refrigeration systems.
• Use PTT and TMT software.

• Certification from a diesel mechanic trade school or at least 3 years of related experience as a power mechanic.
• Volvo D13, Tractor EV & Reefer experience preferred.
• TMT software experience preferred.
• CDL license preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics.
• Own set of tools.
• Ability to lift/move items up to 75 pounds frequently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office and TMT.
• Able to pass pre‑employment drug screen.
