Tractor Diesel Mechanic/Technician

Starting pay $38.44/hour. Union Shop Local 701. Union health benefits (BCBS free for employee and family).

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintain proficiency in diagnosis and repair of assigned equipment (Volvo D13, Tractor EV & Reefer experience is a plus).
• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.
• Perform system repairs on engines, transmission, air and hydraulic systems, tires, drive‑train, steering and suspension, electrical and A/C.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections, state and federal mandated safety inspections, and complete repairs per DOT requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, refrigeration systems.
• Experience with PTT and TMT software preferred.

Qualifications:

• Certification from a diesel mechanic trade school or minimum 3 years of related experience as a power mechanic.
• Volvo D13, Tractor EV & Reefer experience preferred.
• TMT software experience preferred.
• CDL license preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Basic math skills and strong diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics.
• Own set of tools.
• Ability to frequently lift/move items up to 75 lbs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office and TMT.
• Able to pass pre‑employment drug screen.
