Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician supports operations in a high-tech, automated warehouse environment by maintaining and troubleshooting robotic forklifts, palletizing arms, conveyor systems, and racking infrastructure. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, comfort with automation technologies, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven setting.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic forklifts, palletizing arms, conveyors, and racking systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues across automated systems to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Monitor system performance, respond promptly to alerts or faults in real time, and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with remote support and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and system updates.
- Support system upgrades, modifications, and new equipment installations as needed within the automated warehouse.
- Follow and enforce safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and operational standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use touchscreens, computers, and mobile devices to access system information, complete work orders, and communicate with team members.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and suggesting practical solutions.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a mechanic, auto mechanic, or entry-level maintenance role.
- Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs on mechanical systems or production equipment.
- Mechanical skills to inspect, diagnose, and repair components on automated or manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues in an automated or production environment.
- Technical skills using touchscreens, computers, and mobile phones to interact with automation systems and maintenance software.
- Problem-solving skills to identify issues, communicate them clearly, and propose practical solutions.
- Consistent work history and strong attendance, with reliability as a key attribute.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in restrictive areas, following established safety procedures.
- Capability to work in varying temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or trade school education is preferred.
- Experience with automation, robotics, or production environments.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and documentation practices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melrose Park, IL.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
