Material Specialist

Job Description:

Join our team as a Material Specialist, where you will focus on handling materials in packages, ensuring efficient tracking of inbound and outbound shipments. This role involves extensive data entry and documentation, as well as managing inventory counts. Computer proficiency is essential for success in this position.

• Maintain accurate inventories of regulated and non-regulated materials.
• Monitor material expiration dates and update inventory records.
• Identify expired materials and log them into the system.
• Receive, label, quarantine, store, and dispense materials per site procedures.
• Prepare and coordinate internal and external shipments using Excel spreadsheets for tracking.
• Provide excellent customer service to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies and process returns following internal procedures.
• Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to Materials Management.
• Perform additional materials management duties as required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with inventory control and material handling.
• 1+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or inventory management.
• High school diploma or GED required; a degree is preferred.

• Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to accurately document and review critical information.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint.

This position is 100% onsite, with working hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, offering some flexibility for a 7:30am start time. You will be part of a team of 8, working closely with the Materials Manager daily. The role presents potential for extension, in a growing company where possible shift differentials may apply.

This is a Contract position based out of Melrose Park, IL.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
