Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Our client, a leading distribution center specializing in fresh food logistics, is seeking a dedicated Ammonia Technician to join their dynamic team. As an Ammonia Technician, you will be an integral part of the maintenance department supporting the safety and efficiency of ammonia refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, a proactive approach to safety, and excellent problem-solving abilities, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Ammonia Technician
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Pay Range: $40 - $42 an hour (union)
What's the Job?
- Maintain and operate ammonia refrigeration systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot issues to prevent system failures.
- Coordinate with management to uphold health and safety standards, especially during emergencies involving hazardous materials.
- Support safety initiatives and lead safety-related changes to promote a secure work environment.
- Partner with the maintenance team to identify deficiencies, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.
What's Needed?
- At least 4+ years of hands-on refrigeration experience, specifically with ammonia systems.
- Minimum of 5+ years of maintenance experience in a related field.
- Operator I Certificate is required;
Operator II & III certifications are a plus. - Strong analytical, mechanical, and communication skills.
- Ability to pass physical and respirator fit tests, with a background in Risk Management Plan (RMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM).
