Salary: $18.00/Hour Minimum

Bargaining Unit: Teamsters Contract

Report Times: 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Title:

Custodial Assistant (Non-Competitive)

• One year paid full-time experience (or equivalent) in building cleaning work

• Working knowledge of building cleaning procedures, materials and equipment
• Working knowledge of cleaning agents and proper applications
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• One year paid full-time experience (or equivalent) in building cleaning work
• Ability to complete cleaning tasks, move boxes and furniture, operate machinery used to maintain floors
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position
• Daily attendance is expected

• Wash, clean, dust, sanitize, mop, vacuum, and perform minor repairs within the school building
• Collect and dispose of trash throughout assigned area of the building
• Alert custodians of problems as they arise, communicate all issues
• Prepare work orders for work to be scheduled
• Monitor cleaner assignments as needed
• Perform routine checks on heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems
• Assist as needed throughout the building
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

All new employees must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment through the NYSED before employment begins.
