Memphis Business Academy is seeking dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Custodians to join our facilities team. Custodians play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in ensuring school facilities are well‑maintained and meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, gyms, and other school facilities.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces throughout assigned areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean and restock restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
• Maintain cleanliness of entrances, sidewalks, and outdoor common areas.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Manager.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure facilities meet health and safety standards.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Support emergency cleaning needs related to spills, weather events, or other facility issues.
• Ensure compliance with all school safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities Manager, or School Administration.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, and visitors.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed, including evenings or special events.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and tools.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with safety guidelines.
